Omar Ishrak is the president & CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, a $12 billion division of GE Healthcare consisting of growth businesses with a mission to develop innovative technologies that improve clinical performance and increase patient access globally. Healthcare Systems, the largest division of GE Healthcare, consists of diverse technology businesses including Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, Ultrasound, Monitoring Solutions, Molecular Imaging, X-Ray, Interventional, Life Support, and Home Health.

Omar's technology leadership and business acumen have been instrumental in positioning GE to become the world's leading provider of Ultrasound systems and services. Under Omar's leadership, the Ultrasound division has delivered a continuous stream of innovation, expanded into new clinical applications and dramatically broadened global distribution to achieve annual double-digit growth since 1995. Omar was promoted to vice president and Officer of the General Electric Company in 1999. He was appointed president and CEO of Clinical Systems in January 2005 and was named president and CEO of Healthcare Systems, his present position, in January 2009.

Omar joined GE with more than 14 years of technology development and business management experience, holding leadership positions including Senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Product Development, Elbit Ultrasound Group and various product development and engineering positions at Philips Ultrasound.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, King's College.

Omar is a member of the board at The Blood Center of Wisconsin and also on the Health Leadership Council of the Save the Children Foundation.
