Alex Dimitrief was appointed Vice President for Litigation & Legal Policy on February 1, 2007. Reporting to General Counsel Brackett Denniston, Mr. Dimitrief is responsible for litigation and enforcement proceedings in the United States and international jurisdictions against GE and its business segments. He also oversees the company's worldwide compliance programs and serves as a member of GE's Policy Compliance Review Board.

Mr. Dimitrief joined GE from Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, Illinois, where he had been a trial lawyer since 1986. His practice spanned many industries and subject areas, including securities class actions and regulation, complex commercial and intellectual property disputes, environmental and product liability matters and bankruptcy litigation. Prior to joining Kirkland & Ellis, Mr. Dimitrief was a White House Fellow in the Reagan Administration's Office of Political and Intergovernmental Affairs and an Honors Intern in the Office of the Solicitor General at the Department of Justice. He graduated from Yale College with a degree in Economics and Political science and earned his J.D. at Harvard Law School, where he was the Managing Editor of the Harvard Law Review.

Mr. Dimitrief and his wife have three children and are actively involved in supporting numerous charitable organizations in Chicago, Fairfield County and New York.
