“The More You Know”
NBC Universal’s “The More You Know” is the longest running, most comprehensive network public service campaign in the media landscape. Celebrating 20 years, the Emmy award-winning campaign continues to make a difference in communities across the country by raising awareness of important societal issues and motivating viewers to take action through public service announcements, a comprehensive web site and community outreach efforts. Since 1989, “The More You Know” has addressed critical social issues including environmental protection, fighting prejudice and violence prevention. In 2008, NBC Universal donated more than $40 million in airtime to public service announcements.

“El Poder de Saber”
In 2004, Telemundo launched “El Poder de Saber” (The Power of Knowing) to reinforce its commitment to Hispanics by offering positive messages to improve quality of life. This public service campaign seeks to create awareness about the value of education and the power of being informed about issues that are most relevant to our community. In its fourth year, “El Poder de Saber” focuses on staying in school as well as childhood obesity.
NBC Universal Foundation
Committed to making a positive impact in targeted underserved communities, the NBC Universal Foundation invests in educational initiatives that will help prepare children for productive futures. The NBC Universal Foundation supports non-profit organizations that focus on strengthening public secondary education, including environmental education, in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Miami, Chicago and Dallas.
