Our Junior Officer Leadership Program (JOLP) gives veteran military officers the opportunity to find the best fit at GE through assignments at three different eight-month rotational roles across our functional areas.
Nearly one in fourteen U.S. employees of GE are military veterans, so we are well experienced in helping you adjust to life in the private sector. Through our overall benefit structure for all employees, we'll give you personal attention as you transition from the military to GE.
For returning veteran employees, during the first two weeks back on the job you are allowed a flexible work schedule in order to re-acclimate to GE and tend to personal issues. As a gift from GE in appreciation of service, you will have authorization to spend up to $100 to take your family out to dinner. Your managers are also given specific checklists to welcome you back to work and to be sure you are introduced to changes that have taken place organizationally as well as revised or new processes.
As an employee of GE, we want to ensure you have the resources and knowledge to take care of your family, career, and military duties as you prepare for a potential deployment. GE Work/Life Connections and specialized checklists for management and the affected service member(s) are provided with a wealth of information on deployment-related topics and assistance with managing daily responsibilities while one spouse is deployed.
If you are a veteran, GE’s Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) Advisor can help you understand employee eligibility, job entitlements, employer obligations, benefits and the remedies available to you under the Act.

From 2003 to 2008 G.I. Jobs Magazine has chosen GE as one of the most Military Friendly Employers, a recognition of all we do to employ and support active and veteran military personnel, and their families.

The Military Officers Association of America honored GE with its Distinguished Service Award in March of 2006, recognizing our support of associates in the Guard and Reserve and military families nationwide.
