What does a typical GE internship entail?

GE offers full-time, paid internships to qualified candidates at each of our GE businesses. Interns gain hands-on experience while working on challenging projects, network with professionals and learn from some of the brightest minds in business. Please note that certain GE businesses do not offer paid internships; this is clearly outlined in the recruiting material for that business.

What does a typical GE Leadership Program entail?

GE's Entry-Level Leadership Programs combine responsible and important job assignments along with formal classroom studies. The rotational assignments cut across different aspects of a GE business, providing your child with broad and valuable experiences in a relatively short amount of time.

What benefits will my child have during their internship?

Besides a competitive salary, as valuable members of our team, interns and co-ops may earn the same benefits available to full-time employees. These may include: Relocation assistance or housing stipend, accrued vacation time, opportunities to network with managers and other interns at informational sessions, career fairs, social events and recreational activities.

If my child’s internship is outside our hometown, what type of relocation can we expect from GE? Where will they live?

Housing varies by location. We help identify housing in the area through schools, suite style hotels, apartments, etc. Others may be given a housing stipend with suggested property to consider. Leadership Programs also provide assistance in finding housing and relocation services.

What are the hours? What is a typical GE work environment?

A typical day starts at 8:15am and end at 5:00pm. Our employees’ performance can only flourish in a sound-working environment. That is why GE is committed to supporting its leadership culture through systems and policies that foster open communication, maintain employee and partner privacy, and assure health and safety.
