Entry-Level Program: Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP)

The Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) and Internship Program put information technology careers on the fast track. Program experience is in tremendous demand throughout GE. Being a GE IMLP or IT Intern develops strong technical and project management skills through coursework and meaningful assignments. On program you will touch every part of our operations, and play an increasing role in helping GE sustain its record of profitable growth. The programs offer opportunities for successful IMLPs and Interns to accelerate their careers.

IMLP Program Summary

The Information Management Leadership Program allows graduates to experience four six-month rotational assignments through one of GE's major business units. The program consists of an intensive combination of on the job training in various technologies and formal in-class coursework in advanced information technology concepts, finance, leadership, and business skills.

Leadership Opportunities

The program provides participants with opportunities to make a measurable impact on GE. Members have the unique opportunity to work with colleagues across businesses and from around the globe to work on important projects in a wide variety of areas. The program provides participants with visibility to senior level IT and business leaders, while fostering personal development through mentoring and coaching. The typical rotation into four different IT jobs in just two years provides valuable contacts and experience that accelerate the development of technical, business, and leadership skills.

Candidate Criteria

  • Recent graduate showing academic excellence throughout their educational career, who has obtained a degree in a quantitative discipline - Computer Science / Management Information Systems / Mathematics / Engineering preferred. Business degree with IT related experience may be applicable.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills along with solid analytical abilities and sharp business acumen.
  • Coursework or related experience in a programming language, project management and Information Technology applications preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate whilst on the programme.

IMLPs will be placed at one of the following GE businesses based on availability of positions, the interviewer's assessment and the applicant's preference (indicated in the online application):

  • GE Corporate - Bristol, London, Manchester
  • GE Energy - Bracknell, Cambridge
  • GE Healthcare - Amersham

The IMLP application process for 2012 has now been closed. We are currently accepting applications for a 2013 start date. We will begin contacting applicants for the 2013 intake in August 2012.
