The program seeks to develop the leadership skills, business mastery, and change management expertise, as these skills are critical for the functioning and success of the IM function within GE. The duration of this program is 24 months and includes four specific assignments, coupled with intense classroom and distance learning opportunities during which they are closely mentored by Senior IT leaders and business CIOs. IMLP consistently develops GE's next generation of leaders in Information Management. IMLP graduates emerge with a strong technical foundation, solid project management skills, sharpened business acumen, and the ability to lead.
IMLP candidates for the India IMLP program are preferred to have a Masters degree in Business Administration, with two or more years of relevant work experience in the area of Information Technology.

The bootcamps give an IMLP in India the opportunity to meet his/her global peers and visit different geographies.
As part of the Crotonville learning initiative, every IMLP has to undergo a weeklong contact program conducted at one of the offsite locations. The theme of the training program is Leadership and grooms IMLPs for future leadership positions.
Apart from the bootcamp and FOL, there are several distance programs where IMLPs team up with global peers and work on business cases. It gives IMLPs an opportunity to work in a distributed environment with people based out of different geographies.
Apart from the mandatory trainings listed above, there are plenty of training programs like Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt training which can be taken up based on business need and sponsorship.
After an IMLP successfully completes the 2-year program, he/she would have the opportunity to apply for open positions across GE businesses.
You could also be one of the IMLP graduates selected to join the GE Corporate Audit Staff, which is an intensive two-plus year audit and leadership program designed to provide high potential employees with intensive on-the-job development opportunities, extensive contact with the different businesses within GE, and valuable personal contacts that can accelerate your career at GE.
