So, what does it take to make it as an IMLP? A passion for technology - and more. Find out how you can share in the pride of being part of one of the top brands in the world.
Information Technology is the key enabler for GE to compete and win in our broad range of global industries. IT is a strong area of focus and investment across the company, employing over 9,000 IT professionals in more than 50 countries. No other company in the world offers such a diverse set of businesses for an IT professional to work, and such a development-focused culture in which to grow.
The Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) and IMLP internships are key entry points for information technology professionals in GE. This program is designed to attract high-potential candidates with a passion and aptitude for technology and to further develop their technical, leadership and business skills as they transition from academia to the working world.
The mission of IMLP is to develop a leadership talent pipeline for GE's world-class IT organization. IMLP accelerates development of entry-level talent and produces leaders capable of meeting the challenges facing the IT function at GE. The full-time IMLP program is a two-year program consisting of multiple assignments and over 12 weeks of formal training. The job assignments and training are designed to provide hands-on IT experience on GE's strategic business initiatives. IMLP intern assignments, generally 10 -12 weeks, provide an opportunity to imagine yourself as a full-time IMLP.
IMLPs and IMLP Interns gain breadth and depth in a variety of technical disciplines and business functions. Upon completion of the two-year full-time program, IMLP graduates move into off-program jobs where they build domain expertise, lead technical projects, go deeper from a hands-on perspective in a particular technology area, and lead business process reengineering and implementation projects, partnering with functional partners.
IMLPs and IMLP Interns are hired into one of the following businesses based on availability of positions, the interviewer's assessment and the applicant's preference (NOTE: primary locations are in parenthesis after each business, but additional locations and travel opportunities exist for each business):
The IMLP curriculum is designed to give members the opportunity to experience the IT function at GE through a balance of challenging coursework and rotational assignments.
