Entry-Level Program: GE Capital Controllership Development Program (CDP)

GE's Controllers have diverse responsibilities depending on their roles and the businesses in which they work. But in all cases, they directly impact our financial health. When you join GE Capital's CDP, you'll work under the guidance of senior Controllers to gain controllership and accounting experience. CDP provides a unique opportunity to build not only the accounting experience required to meet the CT CPA requirement, but also an opportunity to build a network across the controllership organization.

Program Summary

The Capital Controllership Development Program (CDP) is a two-year rotational program geared towards high performing students with a Master’s degree in Accounting or a MBA with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. The program consists of 4 rotational assignments within Operational & Technical controllership. CDP combines hands on work experience with coursework focused on technical, business, and leadership skills. The program prepares program members for a successful career in controllership while making value contributions to the business.

Candidate Criteria

  • Master’s degree in accounting or MBA with a bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0
  • GPA in Major greater than 3.0/4.0
  • 0 - 1 year of industry experience
  • Must be willing to relocate

Desired Characteristics

  • Desire to obtain CPA Certificate
  • Meets CT CPA education requirement (150 credits/36 accounting credits)
  • Analytical skills, ability to synthesize complex information, process-oriented
  • Relevant internship experience in controllership
  • Critical reasoning, problem-solving ability, creative thinking
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Team player
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
