Why did you decide to join GE?

I joined GE because I knew it would open up a field of opportunities for me. The Communications Leadership Development Program (CLDP) sold me on the opportunity of exploring different areas of communications: public relations, employee communications and marketing communications. That, coupled with the wide variety of GE business, made me feel like I could do almost anything here: go wide, go deep, live in different places, work in different businesses, learn from different people, change the world. I came to GE to develop the skills needed to be the best that I can be.

What are you working on?

I am currently in integrated marketing communications role at GE Environmental Services for my final CLDP rotation. Specifically, I manage communications programs for eVent, our waterproof fabrics product line. I help lead efforts around trade shows, public relations, product launches, digital marketing, brochures and other collateral.

What has been most rewarding about your GE experience?

The reverse mentoring relationship I have with the general manager of our organization has been the most rewarding experience for me at GE. It tells me that senior leaders at GE care about what I have to say. The fact that a senior leader has taken my thoughts and turned them into actions makes me feel valuable as an employee.
