What were you doing before joining GE?

During university studies I worked part time in one of the great banks in Sweden. After graduation I worked as a consultant with services in the areas of Risk, Business Continuity, Crisis and Exercise Management. Mainly I trained companies and governments in the telecom sector to manage risk and crisis.

Why did you decide to join GE?

I started at GE because of the innovative culture, the good balance between work and life , and the focus on leadership and hiring the right people. The personnel are not only competent, but also friendly and open to knowledge sharing. I also appreciate all the career possibilities you have in a global company.

What are you working on?

I just changed position and at the moment I am learning about our risk portfolio in Sweden. I will be responsible for the auto portfolio, our credit card, and CRM (Customer Relationship Management).

What has been most rewarding about your GE experience?

The possibility to work within different functions and create your own career path, and it does not have to be vertical all the time. When I joined GE, I started as a project manager running cross-functional projects. Thereafter I worked as a teamleader in Collections during the recession, a great challenge, and now I just started as a risk analyst in the risk function. Working in different roles and functions has really increased my business understanding.

I have also met a lot of good people and friends at GE. The helpful and positive atmosphere among colleagues is something I highly value. There is never a problem to ask for help or advice.
