I joined GE after completion of my undergraduate degree. I had the opportunity to co-op twice at GE prior to graduation - once in Lean Manufacturing at the Rutland, VT facility and once in Marine and Industrial Projects in Cincinnati, OH.
GE has tremendous leadership and development programs that I knew would allow me to grow professionally in a way that I would not be able to with any other company. The Operations Management Leadership Program allows me to combine both technical skills and business knowledge and utilize them in a different way with each new rotation. It also presented the chance to experience a diverse range of positions that will help to provide me with direction for what I would like to do in future roles. It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up
I am in my second OMLP rotation, currently in Marine and Industrial Engine Assembly in Cincinnati, OH as a Process Engineer. Together, with the mechanics in the area, I explore every aspect of the assembly process and make improvements to create a safe and productive work environment. I try to translate the needs and goals of the business into innovative solutions on the production floor.
GE is a terrific company to work for. I love how I have always been given the freedom to try new ideas and how every challenge is different than the last. Each role has allowed me to develop a diverse skillset that I will use throughout my career. However, the most rewarding part of my GE experience has definitely been working with such incredible people. Everyone is committed to supporting each other to achieve success. We work hard to reach our goals and we have a lot of fun along the way!
