Why did you decide to join GE?

I wanted to embark on a career journey that would give me diversity, challenge and leadership development. GE's Financial Management Program (FMP) offered the exciting opportunity to experience different elements of finance while working on various rotational assignments. What makes this graduate program even more unique is the commitment to growth through multiple training, supporting coursework, travel and network opportunities.

What are you working on?

During my first rotation, I was based in Sydney as part of the GE Capital Pricing team. This project oriented role enabled me to assist in the evaluation of commercial deals, analysis of GE's Cost of Funds and tracking economic trends. Moving into Financial Planning and Analysis, as my second rotation, I focused more on consumer business, its key financial metrics and internal reporting requirements. My current role within GE Energy is an insight into the industrial side of business, working closely with the Asia Finance team. Key areas involve controllership, analysis of Foreign Exchange movement and possible hedging options within GE Energy financials.

What has your experience been like in the Financial Management Program?

The Financial Management Program has been an enjoyable and dynamic learning experience that has opened up many opportunities across GE. It has set a foundation for future leadership positions, offering extensive training, development and exposure.

The diversity of assignments has presented me with challenging and rewarding work, allowing me to become a more adaptable and well rounded individual. Each rotation has been a different chapter across a broad range of business aspects, providing a steep learning curve and exposure to senior management.

Alongside the practical experience, assigned coursework has been an essential part in developing strong financial acumen. The program has been a great platform for personal and professional growth with ample support from leaders and mentors.
