GE's Field Engineering Program (FEP) is a comprehensive eight-month training program that prepares recent college graduates for a field service career. Through classroom, field, computer-based and hands-on training, participants combine theory and practice in tasks such as disassembling turbine generators or diagnosing elusive power system problems.

Program Summary

The Field Engineering Program offers comprehensive coverage of engineering topics, business analysis, commercial relationships, cultural diversity, communications and safety and legal issues. During the program, participants improve their skills in leadership, technology, project management, customer relationship building and business processes.

Professional Opportunities

Upon completion of the Field Engineering Program, all participants have the required knowledge to successfully perform in a Field Engineering role. Immediately following successful completion of the Field Engineering Program, you are assigned to a customer site where you will work closely with more experienced Field Engineers. Throughout your career, you will receive opportunities to expand your business leadership and engineering expertise in Field Engineering as well as other diverse roles within the company. Advanced training is available to proven performers who have excelled in the field and have expressed interest in specializing in a functional area.
