Created in 1996, the Hispanic Forum provides Hispanic employees at GE with learning, coaching, mentoring and networking opportunities as well as a chance to make a difference in the Hispanic community through volunteerism.

Hispanic Forum

The Hispanic Forum’s vision is to attract, develop, inspire and promote Hispanic talent in the Company. We do that by working with the leadership team both at the national and local chapters to share best practices and implement programs that increase the knowledge, skills, visibility and engagement of our members. The ultimate goal of the Hispanic Forum is to foster an inclusive environment where Hispanics can thrive, having impact in our business as well as making a difference in the community.

Through active participation in our national and local events, our members strengthen relationships cross-functionally, across multiple GE businesses and externally. The Hispanic Forum regularly offers webinars, training and networking events addressing the needs of our members. Whether you want to share your cultural heritage, develop your leadership skills, have a positive impact in the community or gain significant exposure to our company leaders, the Hispanic Forum offers ample opportunities to do this and so much more. STEM Programs

Promotes STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) across the US. Since 1981, the GE Foundation has donated more than $1.5 million to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Also, the GE Hispanic Forum is working directly with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to administer and award the GE Hispanic Forum Scholarship. Together, the GE Hispanic Forum is able to award scholarships to high school students who plan to major in STEM fields.

Unidas Mentoring Program

Provides GE Hispanic Forum members with opportunities to further personal and professional development through formal training, networking and other community engagement programs at GE.

Other Events & Partnerships

  • Annual sponsoring of events with members and leadership symposiums with participation of USA and Latin American customers to address items of interest to the Hispanic community
  • In 2011, established a partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation to create the GE Hispanic Forum scholarship. This scholarship provides selected Hispanic students an opportunity to attend college, assigns a mentor, and offers a career readiness program to ensure that all scholars are ready to make solid contributions in the workplace.
  • Annual engagement of more than 2000 external Hispanic talent through strategic partnership with professional organizations and key universities
  • Over 16,000 hours per year of volunteer work to benefit Hispanic communities through signature events focused on education and health
