Renewable energy: An important part of sustainable operations

The Wintering Hills project, with fifty-five 1.6 MW GE wind turbines - can produce enough power for approximately 35,000 Alberta homes.

The project is jointly owned by Teck Resources - a company committed to exploring the opportunities offered by renewable energy and Suncor Energy – whose comprehensive sustainability strategy balances economic, social and environmental needs and focuses on reducing Suncor’s environmental footprint in air, land and water. Suncor is collaborating with GE on a wide range of technologies - from renewable energy to water process technologies that reduce freshwater consumption in oil sands operations. More ways that GE is working for a stronger Canada.
