[[Narrator] Engine noise plays a large role here at GE Aviation.]
[We're using larger fans that can rotate slower, so they're quieter,]
[and special aerodynamic treatments to muffle sounds. ]
[We apply devices called chevrons to our engine's fan and core]
[that mix the air coming from the engine's exhaust.]
[This reduces the turbulence and noise at takeoff.]
[In addition to lowering decibels, we're also lowering emissions. ]
[For the aviation industry as a whole, this is a worldwide initiative,]
[and across GE's engine models, we're way ahead of the game ]
[and becoming a good environmental neighbor. ]
[Our technology improves the process of how air and fuel are mixed in the combuster]
[to produce low emission levels.]
[With the GEnx, we are incorporating our most advanced combustion technology ever,]
[and the result will be an engine that will produce emissions up to 94%]
[below the most stringent regulations.]
