[>>My name is Ruben Villavicencio. ]

[I'm a coater attendant. ]

[I work on these coaters here and maintenance and coating lamps. ]

[Before I worked at GE Bucyrus, I worked on farm equipment, ]

[worked on cars, auto repair. ]

[And I was actually laid off for two years prior, ]

[and then I got the call to come to GE and got in here within a few months. ]

[[Travis Clark] We're the center of excellence for fluorescent light bulbs. ]

[So whenever you see a GE fluorescent tube, it came from Bucyrus, Ohio. ]

[[David Bradley] Before coming to the GE plant, I had actually ]

[been working in software quality engineering. ]

[Unfortunately, I was part of a workforce reduction in the company that is located]

[in the Columbus, Ohio, area. ]

[[Travis Clark] We live in a part of the country that's been hurt a lot ]

[by the job loss and by the economy, and the manufacturing area, specifically, ]

[has been hit pretty hard. And this is one of the plants that survived, ]

[and it's taken a lot of people that were otherwise out of work and given them]

[an opportunity to get back into the manufacturing field. ]

[[Matt Dornbirer] I really like this job. You know--I'm back being an electrician.]

[It's what I normally do, and I love it, you know. It's great working here. ]

[The community around here does not have a lot of industry anymore;]

[a lot of it's moved away, and GE Bucyrus has really come through for a lot of people. ]

[[Ruben Villavicencio] They do a lot of benefit things. ]

[They do a lot for the United Way. Everybody gives, and it's a really good thing]

[here for the community. And I think the community is proud to have a plant]

[this big and employing this many people in not just Bucyrus but in the tri-county area. ]

[[David Bradley] There has been some remarkable manufacturing that's occurred]

[in Ohio's history, and I think to be able to carry on that legacy in this current time--]

[current economic time--is an important mission for everyone. ]

[And GE's put the resources in place for us to be able to achieve that. ]
