[I'm the IT Audit Director for GE Capital Internal Audit.]
[I've been with the company for 8 years. ]
[I've been in this role with GECIA for about a year now. ]
[And it's really an exciting time to be in IT Audit, especially within GE Capital. ]
[I think since I've taken this role we've added about 20 IT Auditors, ]
[so we're now at 45 out of a group of about 400. ]
[We do a lot of different types of audit work--]
[project audits, integrated systems work, ]
[and then some more core infrastructure and security audits. ]
[When you look at the regulatory landscape these days, ]
[there's so much focus on our systems and data]
[and really ensuring that they're well-protected. ]
[So what we do every day is really important. ]
[I think the teams find it really rewarding. ]
[My name is Paul Puryear, and]
[I'm a loan review director for GE Internal Audit. ]
[I've got 10 years of experience at GE and 26 years of risk experience in total. ]
[GE Internal Audit has been growing at a very fast clip over the last few years. ]
[In fact, my group has added 15 people to the group. ]
[One of the reasons I like to tell people to join GE Internal Audit is]
[you get a chance to see all of the organization from one job. ]
[Hi, I'm Katrina Holt. I'm the Internal Audit Director for our Americas Region. ]
[I've been with GE Capital for just over 3 years now, and I've been ]
[in my current role for over a year. ]
[It's such a dynamic time to be part of GE Capital with the changing ]
[regulatory landscape and having new regulators in the door. ]
[We have to think about new ways to run our business and to run GE Capital,]
[and Internal Audit is an integral part of that. ]
[The audits that we focus on in my team are largely around risk management, ]
[governance, compliance, and the internal control environment. ]
[Internal Audit is a great way to join GE Capital. ]
[It's a way for you to see all of our businesses, ]
[get to know the way GE Capital runs, ]
[and it's also a great opportunity to interface with our senior leadership team]
[and develop soft skills and critical thinking skills. ]
[Hi, my name's Craig Buick. I'm the European Internal Audit Director for GE Capital. ]
[Before joining GE, I was an auditor with Price Waterhouse for about 10 years. ]
[And then the last 8 years, within GE, I've held roles as Controller and CFO. ]
[Now recently I've moved into this role as Audit Director. ]
[Personally, my long-term career goal was to be a finance professional and get a big CFO job. ]
[So why did I move back into Audit after being in Finance?]
[There's two main reasons for that, really. ]
[The first reason is at the moment, with the feds coming in as the regulator ]
[of GE Capital, there is huge focus on audit at this point in time. ]
[And the work we're doing is getting a lot of exposure. ]
[I'm regularly reporting out to a lot of the senior management ]
[in the business and right up the ladder to the top of GE. ]
[Secondly, the other important reason that I wanted to take this role is]
[when I looked at the CFOs that I admired, ]
[these were people who were almost Deputy Chief Executive Officers, ]
[and to be a good Deputy Chief Executive Officer, you can't just know finance. ]
[You've got to know operations; you've got to know compliance, and you've got to know IT. ]
[And this role has given me huge exposure to those areas.]
[So it's a great time to be in Audit, and it's a great time to be in GE Capital Internal Audit. ]
[Hi, my name is Kolleen Johnsen. ]
[I'm the GE Capital Internal Audit HR Leader. ]
[Right now is a really great time to be part of our organization ]
[and to join our organization. ]
[We have a ton of opportunities that employ all sorts of audit professionals]
[from very specialized professionals in IT Audit, Tax, or Treasury]
[all the way to more general auditors who can add their breadth and depth ]
[of experience to our organization. ]
