[The aircraft behind me is the new H80 powered Thrush.]
[It's been in turbine aircraft for many years .]
[We're upgrading and updating the aircraft, along as, of course, the engine installation.]
[It's used from everything from fire suppression to planning saves ]
[to fighting insects, to hauling gold ore in South Africa, to hauling fuel in Alaska,]
[to feeding fish, to just about anything you can think of.]
[The main purpose of the aircraft is that it can carry considerably more ]
[than its empty weight, which is a little unusual for an aircraft.]
[I'm really looking forward to working with GE.]
[I've got a past history with GE.]
[I'm really, really impressed with what you guys done with the C27 in years past,]
[and looking forward to something along those lines in the H80.]
[My name is Cory Yord. I'm vice president of maintenance and avionics ]
[for Smyrna Air Center in Smyrna, Tennessee.]
[What you see here is the power 90 King Air conversion.]
[We utilize the Walter 601 engine.]
[This provides increased performance in all flight regimes for the King Air aircraft.]
[This means shorter takeoff rolls, increased climbs to altitude, increased cruise speeds,]
[and better overall efficiency for the King Air airframe.]
[The power 90 conversion is a complete King Air conversion,]
[not only with the installation of the engines and the new 5-bladed Avia propellers]
[that provide superior sound deadening and quiet installation.]
[Then we can go to the inside.]
