[Indonesia has a vast population--240 million people ]
[scattered across 18,000 islands in the archipelago.]

[I'm Andrew Phelan. I'm the Strategic Marketing Manager for GE Healthcare Asia-Pacific, ]
[There's a wide national network of midwives, called bidans--something like]
[One of the great things about Vscan is the ability for clinicians to take it anywhere--]
[remote areas, where ultrasound or echocardiography would not be available. ]
[The other thing that I think is great about it is the presets--the cardiac, the abdominal,]
[the obstetrics, and gynecology presets--that make the thing easy to use.]
[We had a great example of that yesterday where we had a doctor here in Indonesia]
[who had never used a similar product who picked it up very quickly, ]
[and it was quite intuitive. ]

[and there's just not enough doctors to go around here. ]
[I think with some basic training and the intuitive ease of use of Vscan]
[it's a product that has tremendous potential to make an impact]
[in terms of basic diagnosis that will translate into better healthcare outcomes, ]
[that will translate into lives being saved. ]
