[[Omar Ishrak-President & CEO, GE Healthcare Systems] Hi, I'm Omar Ishrak]
[and I run Healthcare Systems for GE.]
[I've had family members who have had different issues,]
[One of the most frustrating aspects of the healthcare system--at least in the U.S.]
[which I have experience with--is that you go to a doctor, and the definitive diagnosis]
[is three or four steps away from your first visit.]
[Being in healthcare technology, I know that the appropriate technology ]
[in the hands of that doctor could provide a definitive diagnosis which is more precise]
[and almost immediately would provide a huge amount of patient satisfaction, patient comfort]
[and satisfaction with the overall process]
[because to a patient who is ill, the most important thing on their mind ]
[is what is the nature of their illness.]
[The more precision you can provide, the better they will feel, ]
[and the better the treatment will be.]
[The worst thing that can happen to them]
[--even worse than something that may be a scary outcome--]
[is waiting, and the time frame that's involved today]
[is simply because the appropriate technology ]
[is not in the hands of the appropriate physicians]
[at the right time and the right cost.]
[There is huge disatisfaction for the patients.]
[The person down the street is your average patient,]
[and if these products don't effect patients, they're of no use at all.]
