[[Mike Barber, Vice President, Healthymagination]]
[Hi, I'm Mike Barber, Vice President for Healthymagination. ]
[The Vscan is some breakthrough technology that we have here at GE.]
[It's one where we'll take the physical exam at a primary care physician]
[and give them the capability of doing imaging]
[To have the technology in a small enough package, that it can be something]
[that is very mobile, it's portable. ]
[It's about the size of a smartphone, so a physician can carry it around with them]
[just like they carry things around in their pockets today, but it has the ]
[power of an ultrasound imager in the size ]
[somebody can put in the palm of their hand. ]
[So as you can see, the Vscan is about the size of a smartphone.]
[to transmit the ultrasonic soundwaves, ]
[so it transmits and receives the soundwaves from the body. ]
[So this would be placed against the appropriate ]
[part of the anatomy to be able to look at the image]
[and what the clinicians use on the patient. ]
[And then, at the same time, be able to view it in real-time. ]
[What's really unique is you can see it's a]
[high-quality image that's visible,]
[top just like you would see on a flip phone, ]
[so you can look at different procedures, different images]
[that are going on, what you've done, scroll through it, ]
[So very intuitive with what clinicians need]
[as they're going through their daily activities.]
[So just that quickly, you can be up and running and]
[scanning a patient to be able to look at that image, in addition to the other]
[activities they would do during a physical exam. ]
[With Healthymagination, there's a ton of terrific ideas of what ]
[we can do to bring better quality, lower cost, and improve access.]
[The Vscan, in my mind, is one of those]
[It's a true breakthrough in being able to bring imaging to the point of care for patients.]
[So we're very excited about it. ]
[It's not every day that you see a fully functional imaging device]
[as something that you can hold in your hand and carry around with you.]
[So this is the first in many of a line of things that we're doing,]
[but we're very excited about this. ]
[I truly believe it's going to make the practice of medicine,]
[and what people do with their patients--clinicians--each and every day,]
