[Hi, my name is Mahuve Majunger.]
[We are going to Grameen Shahrail Clinic.]
[I'm terribly excited to be there; we are going to be visiting the ultrasound program there.]
[[inaudible voices in background]]
[This is Omar Ishrak, and I'm here in the village clinic owned by Grameen Health, ]
[and we're doing a program through which we are trying to figure out how to use ultrasound]
[in a very general fashion for obstetric care in villages around the world, ]
[but this is one of the first prototypes.]
[We've trained paramedics who have got limited education]
[but have been trained in the usage of ultrasound.]
[And here I came together with several colleagues to watch an actual scan.]
[And the paramedics are right here--[voice is drowned out by airplane flying overhead]]
[And a lot of my colleagues here, which I won't go through by name, ]
[but all of them have been working in this program with the people here, and we came to watch this.]
[So we're really excited about what we can do with this.]
[[Sound of loud machinery] We still have a long way to go, but we expect to get feedback,]
[design new machines that are more capable and more appropriate for this setting, ]
[and through that, make this a standard of care one day ]
[for obstetric care in villages around the world where the majority of people live.]
