[[Stephen Monez, Assistant V.P. Corperate Engineering Continuum Health Partners]]
[We spend on average about $7-$8 million a year]
[When I first heard about the treasure hunt, I didn't know what to expect. ]
[I heard that it was a process, ]
[that it helps identify energy opportunities for us,]
[it helps bring teamwork together, and it sounded interesting.]
[We do a walk-through with the GE team, ]
[and we scope out the facility and we identified]
[Once we identified those opportunities, we started putting teams together. ]
[The goal that we set for ourselves for the treasure hunt was ]
[10 percent, which is $750,000 a year. ]
[The first day we were getting ]
[numbers back about a million in findings and ]
[By day two, I was pretty astonished. ]
[For example, we found offices and hallways]
[for offices that are on--the lights are on--]
[most of the time when people are not in them, and if we put]
[the right technology in place, we would be able to reduce that ]
[The maintenance and operational changes can take place]
[with very little capital investment, very little]
[monetary investment, and that's what we're going to]
[We're going to try to make those changes now. ]
[There's so many other firms that are out there that they want to just ]
[come in, write a report for you, they do it, ]
[it kind of sits on the desk. ]
[This opportunity for us really identified a process]
[for us to help ourselves, and that's what GE]
[did for us with this treasure hunt process. ]
[We can actually take the tools, take the process, take the ]
[knowledge that we learned of the process, and try to apply this]
