[My name is Caleb Steiner. I'm part of the renewable energy team at Hoosier Energy.]
[Behind me is the Clark-Floyd landfill methane generating station,]
[which is a direct result of the Board of Directors' action in 2007 ]
[that had Hoosier Energy pursue renewable energy]
[ahead of any state or federal mandate.]
[The generating station is putting out 3.5 megawatts of power,]
[which is enough to power 2,500 member homes in our service territory.]
[This is just what we expect to be one of many different applications ]
[of the Jenbacher engines in the renewable energy world for us. ]
[Certainly, we have landfill gas applications that operate off of methane gas,]
[generated by decomposing garbage.]
[The second application we are investigating is using existing coal bed methane gas]
[to power these engines over at the Merom site.]
[The third application we are investigating currently is utilizing agricultural waste ]
[This will help with manure management for our farmers in our service territory.]
[In total, this is just one application ]
[in numerous renewable applications that we are trying to use]
[in order to add value to Hoosier, which adds value to you, the members.]
