[Well, we're just finishing a very successful]

[sustainable cities event here in Madrid.]

[It's an area where GE can really play a great role]

[from a thought leadership perspective. ]

[As many of you know, more and more of the population in the world]

[is moving into urban settings. ]

[Here in Spain, for example, 85% of the population]

[will be living in an urban setting in the coming years.]

[That means that energy usage is going to increase by 20%,]

[healthcare costs are going to triple, and we at GE have a number of products--]

[a number of innovations--that can really help]

[city planners, governments, non-governmental organizations]

[other private industries, citizens live a better life in cities.]

[And the purpose of this event--and it's the first event]

[in a cycle of events that we are going to have in other European cities]

[including Paris and Stockholm, and Berlin and other places--]

[really is talking about how can GE help]

[think about some of the solutions that are going to make a difference in the future.]

[We talked about energy, distributed energy, ]

[Smart Grid, many of the exciting products that we have]

[that can help, for example, Jenbacher technology,]

[taking gas emissions from landfills and turning it into electricity.]

[We talked about water. Spain, in particular, has water issues,]

[but it's not the only country in the world that has water issues,]

[ so desalt plans, reuse--that's an area again where we can play a big difference]

[in the quality of life in cities.]

[We talked about healthcare.]

[We're able to talk about our healthymagination intiative]

[which is obviously very new, but something that a lot of people are very interested in.]

[Preventative healthcare, preventative medicine,]

[and how we can make a better quality of healthcare]

[available to more people at a better cost. ]

[So overall, I think the event was a huge success. ]

[We had some very senior speakers,]

[and for me it was really a great pleasure ]

[to be able to participate in it. ]
