[Coming out of business school I was fortunate enough]
[to have a number of opportunities with some really incredible companies,]
[but what set GE apart for me was both ]
[the individuals I had met and their passion for the organization.]
[And when I looked at the person I would]
[be in two years, in five years,]
[I thought that as an idividual and as a professional]
[I would have more opportunities to really grow and ]
[explore what my opportunities were to be]
[as an individual and a professional at GE--were just tremendous. ]
[The program has both helped me focus on ]
[and distill some of my natural]
[talents and skills and figure out]
[the best way to apply those in a variety]
[of business situations and interpersonal situations.]
[It's also helped me become more critical ]
[and more fast-acting in terms of my development needs ]
[and has given me frameworks to ]
[ figure out what those are, figure out who can help me fix them, ]
[and figure out action plans for moving forward.]
[I apply my marketing and sales skills everyday]
[with other people on my team, ]
[with customers, with potential]
[candidates who are looking at ECLP and thinking about]
[whether GE is an organization they'd want to join.]
[I came from business school with a certain set of]
[academic marketing experience, but]
[through both the training and rotations have been able to ]
[figure out how does that work in a real world. ]
[both my daily life and to long-term strategic projects. ]
[You've got to keep delivering.]
[You're performance needs to be consistent. ]
[Again, a failure here, a failure there, okay. ]
[We can work through that, but at the end of the day you've]
[got to rack up more wins than loses. ]
[ECLP really gave me new direction, focus, and allowed]
[me to enter an industry that wouldn't have been]
[open to me prior to joining the program. ]
[The program allowed me to take the skills and talents ]
[expand them, grow them in a way that ]
[was valuable to GE, and then allowed me to move]
[into a role where I can leverage all of that]
[into something valuable for GE long-term. ]
[What surprised me most about GE and the program is ]
[how it constantly reinvents itself.]
[The organization is always learning]
[new ways in which it can grow--adjacencies, ]
[moving its technology and its--]
[moving itself into new technologies,]
[new businesses, new markets, new customers.]
[The program reinvents itself as the business]
[changes to understand what does GE need]
[now from its commercial leaders,]
[and what do the people coming into the program need now to become those commercial leaders. ]
