[Coming out of business school I was fortunate enough]

[to have a number of opportunities with some really incredible companies,]

[but what set GE apart for me was both ]

[the individuals I had met and their passion for the organization.]

[And when I looked at the person I would]

[be in two years, in five years,]

[I thought that as an idividual and as a professional]

[I would have more opportunities to really grow and ]

[explore what my opportunities were to be]

[as an individual and a professional at GE--were just tremendous. ]

[The program has both helped me focus on ]

[and distill some of my natural]

[talents and skills and figure out]

[the best way to apply those in a variety]

[of business situations and interpersonal situations.]

[It's also helped me become more critical ]

[and more fast-acting in terms of my development needs ]

[and has given me frameworks to ]

[ figure out what those are, figure out who can help me fix them, ]

[and figure out action plans for moving forward.]

[I apply my marketing and sales skills everyday]

[internally, externally, ]

[with other people on my team, ]

[with customers, with potential]

[candidates who are looking at ECLP and thinking about]

[whether GE is an organization they'd want to join.]

[I came from business school with a certain set of]

[academic marketing experience, but]

[through both the training and rotations have been able to ]

[figure out how does that work in a real world. ]

[How does that work for GE?]

[And apply that then to ]

[both my daily life and to long-term strategic projects. ]

[You've got to keep delivering.]

[You're performance needs to be consistent. ]

[Again, a failure here, a failure there, okay. ]

[We can work through that, but at the end of the day you've]

[got to rack up more wins than loses. ]

[ECLP really gave me new direction, focus, and allowed]

[me to enter an industry that wouldn't have been]

[open to me prior to joining the program. ]

[The program allowed me to take the skills and talents ]

[I had before GE,]

[expand them, grow them in a way that ]

[was valuable to GE, and then allowed me to move]

[into a role where I can leverage all of that]

[into something valuable for GE long-term. ]

[What surprised me most about GE and the program is ]

[how it constantly reinvents itself.]

[The organization is always learning]

[new ways in which it can grow--adjacencies, ]

[moving its technology and its--]

[moving itself into new technologies,]

[new businesses, new markets, new customers.]

[The program reinvents itself as the business]

[changes to understand what does GE need]

[now from its commercial leaders,]

[and what do the people coming into the program need now to become those commercial leaders. ]
