[I've had an opportunity to work for our Clean Coal Group]
[in Houston, Texas, our Wind Energy Business in Schenectady, New York, ]
[and most recently our Ecomagination office in Cincinatti, Ohio. ]
[The fact that senior management takes my opinion very seriously, ]
[that I'm sitting at the same table and they want to know what ]
[I'm thinking, so it's been surprising]
[that in a short amount of time, I've had the ability to ]
[give advice and provide strategic insight.]
[The biggest challenge, in my opinion, ]
[has been making sure that my family]
[is taken care of, making sure that as we go on to a new opportunity, ]
[that they feel like they're part of the process.]
[The fact that they're not just--their lives aren't]
[being put on hold, but that we're all growing together. ]
[Working with so many people of this caliber]
[and coming from all these elite business schools, coming from ]
[leadership roles within GE gives a great sense of energy,]
[a great sense of a strong network that you know]
[five years from now, ten years from now, these are the people that are going to be]
[leading other businesses, so it's important to have their opinions. ]
[You do have to learn very quickly, ]
[so I'd say you have a month of those 6 months]
[But at that point you have to deliver.]
[You have to be very confident in front of customers, ]
[in front of senior leadership,that you know what you're talking about. ]
[I thought of myself as a flexible person beforehand. ]
[I thought of myself as a person who liked the challenges I was ]
[talking about, and it's pushed me further than]
[I anticipated, so I do feel like I'm ]
[more confident as a business person.]
[I feel like I can tackle many challenges as a result. ]
[It allows you to take what you consider ]
[to be a passion, perhaps, in business school or in your previous career]
