[I am a second shift cell leader for GE Aviation.]

[Right now I am the manager of shop operations ]

[for the Instrument and Transformer business.]

[Currently I am a lean manufacturing specialist.]

[We build electronic conversion units and power units.]

[[narrator] For each of these young people, their current job is one of four]

[that they'll have in just two years at GE.]

[My first rotation was in Rutland, Vermont.]

[It was a technical support role for our large engine airfoils.]

[My next rotation was a cell leader in Terre Haute, Indiana.]

[My fourth rotation was in Wilmington, North Carolina,]

[a nuclear business where I was the second shift operations leader.]

[[narrator] The job rotations are an integral part of GE's ]

[Operations Management Leadership Program.]

[OMLP develops talent in the operations area and grooms the future leaders of the company]

[by giving them challenging six-month assignments.]

[I am responsible for production control [OMLP - Ashley - 2nd Rotation]]

[for making sure that the parts are flowing ]

[and for any personnel issues that arise.]

[It's almost like running my own little business.]

[[OMLP - Dennis - Instrument Transformer Business]]

[I have 70 people working for me, a combination of salary and hourly people.]

[You can be a process engineer [OMLP - Giovanni - 1st Rotation]]

[you can be a contract administrator or buyer in the sourcing division,]

[and then you can be a cell leader.]

[You're going to have the chance to work in a big shop somewhere]

[as well as one of GE's smaller service type shops.]

[On top of that, you have responsibilities associated with the program.]

[[narrator] Whatever you do, you're going to learn and grow.]

[Not only are you growing professionally in the program,]

[but you are also growing personally.]

[You're forced to step outside of your comfort zone.]

[You're put in some pretty critical spots to get stuff out the door on time,]

[make sure it's good quality parts.]

[I did some stuff right, I did some stuff wrong,]

[but the end result was I did good for the business and learned a lot myself.]

[[Ashley] It's put things into perspective for me]

[in terms of where I fit in to the company and how I can make an impact.]

[[♪♪] [narrator] As OMLPs,]

[they're getting exposure to senior management ]

[and becoming part of a network that can last an entire career.]

[We get to work with OMLPs from across the world.]

[We have the opportunity to network with each other,]

[to learn and consult one another about various business situations that we are put into.]

[A lot of the star players within GE came through the program.]

[[♪♪] [narrator] Best of all, in OMLP you get to work for the world-class brand known as GE.]

[They touch every facet of a person's daily life,]

[and we're there behind the scenes producing that product,]

[designing that product, marketing the product.]

[I think the coolest thing about GE is just the opportunities they give you.]

[At a young age you're going to be thrown into some pretty critical roles]

[and be able to have an impact.]

[[Ashley] It is a cool place to work. ]

[We're provided with world-class training from people around the world.]

[Every time I go to an airport now, I check to see the engines on the airplane.]

[I actually sit on my seat and look to see if there are GE engines on there.]

[And I'm just kind of proud to be able to say that.]

[[Dennis] It is kind of the major leagues.]

[It's a big corporation. You're put in big roles.]

[You get a lot of exposure, you get a lot of opportunity.]
