[The beauty of ECLP is that you really get ]
[ to look at different parts of the business, what really makes GE tick.]
[But you also get to see the breadth of GE and all the different intricacies]
[of having the different businesses, how they work together, and how]
[they can really bring some pretty unique product solutions to the marketplace. ]
[The one thing you learn about yourself is]
[how quickly you can pack a suitcase and move around from location to location]
[and how quickly you can pack up your entire apartment and move.]
[But what you really learn about deep down,]
[kind of your skill set is, how you can be dropped into]
[any situation and really learn the environment]
[very, very quickly, but then also start executing.]
[So you're not taking a lot of time to really just get your feet wet]
[and learn, but you're actually in there picking it up immediately]
[We're all about execution and we're all about delivering.]
[And what's neat is if you're somebody who really enjoys the idea]
[of constant reward this is a great program for you,]
[because you're taking phenomenally important projects]
[to the business and you're delivering every 6 months.]
[A lot of times you're working within the business, as well, and delivering]
[in a shorter amount of time than just 6 months. ]
[So you're really constantly innovating and delivering, and that]
[feeling of accomplishment is just phenomenal. ]
[My most meaningful rotation was my first rotation.]
[That was managing a 3 million dollar product line. ]
[And to me it was great that you just get dropped into the situation]
[and they're saying, "Hey, this is an important product that's worth 3 million dollars]
[of our business and we trust that you can do a good job and run with it."]
[The expectations are phenomenally high for the ECLP program, ]
[and the reason why is because we've had so many great ECLPs ]
[come throughout these years that the brand is so strong.]
[And people know that if you're in the ECLP program you're going to deliver great results. ]
[So certainly they expect nothing less of you. ]
[What's really surprised me about myself is being able to ]
[constantly be on point and constantly being]
[It's something that I picked up a little at business school,]
[but really being able to execute on a career basis ]
[being able to execute day in and day out. ]
[If you're always afraid of if you make a mistake]
[there's going to be some really harsh repercussions,]
[you're not going to take those risks. ]
[And I think one of the beauties of GE is they allow you to take]
[those risks and make those mistakes because they really]
[know that to truly innovate and to truly be worldclass]
[and to truly compete against all the great competitors out there]
[you really have to be able to take those risks and to be able]
[to not be afraid of those repercussions. ]
[And that's something that GE really fosters, is that idea]
[of intelligent, competitive, risk-taking.]
[Some of the benefits and challenges of the GE culture ]
[are, beginning with the benefits,]
[it's a really collaborative culture.]
[Something that I've noticed across all the businesses is ]
[when you have questions or when you need help there's always going to be people]
[and resources around you to lend their assisstance, even though everyone]
[Some of the negatives of the GE culture is, if you're not a type-A personality ]
[and your'e not used to delivering on a daily basis, it can become]
[a bit much when you're asked to deliver as often as we do. ]
