[Hi, I'm Anna and we're here on campus to talk to some]
[MBA and graduate students about their upcoming careers]
[and what may or may not be the right job for them. ]
[I'm a little confused because ]
[the people here seem to want to work really hard and]
[do things like change the world.]
[They want something that challenges them and where they have]
[responsibilities and they can make big decisions.]
[That's kind of ridiculous, right?]
[Don't you kind of, like, want to sit at home and chill out?]
[Hey! You look like you're working too hard. ]
[I think that most students here, they want to make a difference and]
[they want to have some type of impact. ]
[That's why we're here at MBA school, to make an impact. ]
[Yikes! That's hardcore. It is. ]
[These people are like from a different planet than me. ]
[Wouldn't it be easier to just like, you know, have a job]
[where you sit at a desk and eat candy bars?]
[I don't think that's consistent with the MBA mentality. ]
[Yeah, but like, work? Come on, there's ways of getting around work. ]
[Attention, attention, you're working too hard. ]
[You kind of sound like a slacker. ]
[Whoa! Wouldn't it be easier to just, ]
[It's not fulfilling, it's not fun, it's not interesting.]
[You're going to be bored, you're not going to make as much money, ]
[and at the end of the day you're just kind of going to look back and be like, "Eh."]
[Have you ever heard of a company called GE?]
[I have, yeah. Once or twice. [off camera] Yeah? Once or twice? ]
[I think that it's a big, cool company]
[where you can basically find]
[Give me a high five. [slap sound]]
[If I were to get a job at GE, ]
[what is, like, the minimum amount of effort I could do to work there?]
[If you're mindset is what's the minimum I can do, ]
[I don't know that you're going to ever get hired by GE in the first place. ]
[I mean, that's not GE's way. ]
[GE offers these training programs--]
[these 2-year training programs. ]
[They put you in these positions where you're expected to sort of make these big]
[decisions really early, and, like, they empower you to do that.]
[It's good to go to a company where they're going to give you that sense of ownership]
[and ability to make decisions.]
[It should make you feel good about yourself being in that sort of a position,]
[working for the most admired company in the world,]
[being part of this elite training program.]
[Because what else are you going to do with your life if it's not work hard]
[at the career that you choose?]
[I guess that's true. I'm starting to get it. ]
[[Anna] Fortune Magazine did say GE is one of the most admired companies in the world. ]
[And now that I think of it, GE does have great benefits.]
[And GE does have unique training programs that lead to rapid advancement. ]
[And I did just read that GE's ]
[2-year leadership programs are ranked #1 in the world, ]
[and that 50 percent of GE's top management executives started in these programs. ]
[Okay, okay, you guys have convinced me.]
[GE really is the best place to build your career. ]
