[the crushing moment we first realized that the tooth fairy was just a terrible sham--]

[But there's one first that may be more important than all of those--]

[your first big job. ]

[Love is in the air. ]

[First kiss. >>It was good. >>It was good?]

[Soft. >>Boring.>> Cold. ]

[Cold? ]

[I'm not going to say it. ]

[Look at her blushing. ]

[What about your first job?]

[Working at a bookstore. >>I worked at a mall. ]

[Selling kayaks and canoes. ]

[I think I held that down for about 4 days. ]

[Not the dream job?]

[Definitely not. >>Not the dream job, okay. ]

[What would you want out of your first big job?]

[Travel. >> Travel?]

[Something that I enjoy doing and that I feel like is helping other people. ]

[I want to make and impact in the world. ]

[I don't want to just sit there and push paper.]

[Doing something that I love and hopefully having some impact.]

[What would be your ideal first job out of college?]

[CEO. >>You've got your sights set very high, sir. ]

[Well, I want to work with the climate change problem. >> Nice. ]

[Do something special. ]

[What's the difference between a job and a meaningful career?]

[Something that I love to do ]

[besides something that just makes money. ]

[A job is something that you do day to day. ]

[A career is something that is a lifetime of passion. ]

[What do you think of when you think of GE? ]

[General Electric. >> Well, yes, that's what GE means. ]

[But what comes to mind?]

[Innovation. >>Innovation? Nice. ]

[Opportunity, a good place to work. ]

[I work at the career center, so I know they recruit here a lot. ]

[They're a good company and everyone wants to work for GE. >>Yes. ]

[I'm trying, actually, to get an internship with a company like that for this summer.]

[A job at GE gives you a chance to change ]

[the world by taking on some of the world's toughest environmental challenges.]

[GE made the huge, huge push to be more green,]

[got compact flourescent lightbulbs,]

[hybrid locomotives. ]

[They're even doing desalination around the world. ]

[If you work for GE you know that you're working for a company that is really]

[thinking about our future.]

[Even if you're working in finance, that doesn't mean you can't]

[be connected to that stuff. ]

[GE has a long history of firsts, including the innovations ]

[that you see today in transportation, healthcare, and sustainable energy. ]
