[My name is Josh Sobel. [Josh - Commercial Leadership Program]]
[I'm with the Commercial Leadership Program in Peterborough, Canada.]
[It's a town about an hour outside of Toronto.]
[And what GE does here is they build large motors.]
[I joined GE straight out of school.]
[I took a few months off and then came right out in here.]
[One of the neat parts about the Peterborough facility here is what we call the shop.]
[The shop is our manufacturing floor where we build large, customizable motors,]
[150-ton cranes, some of the largest rotating machine equipment in North America.]
[We also have the largest test facility there.]
[We actually assemble and test these large, school bus sized motors.]
[It's pretty mind blowing what's being done out in the shop, the heavy manufacturing.]
[As a CLP, what I'm responsible for is taking an inquiry that we get from a customer]
[and bringing it to the order phase.]
[I'm dealing with the customer, I'm dealing with the sales force, I'm dealing with engineering.]
[I'm bringing it all together and acting as their commercial champion for that specific project.]
[I went to school for mechanical engineering, a minor in business as well.]
[I think this is a great program for me, personally.]
[I like to be around people and talk to customers]
[and look at, sort of, business strategy from a higher level.]
[Where my background is engineering, I do enjoy the technical aspects as well]
[which this role also gives me the opportunity to take advantage of.]
[I'm only halfway through my program and already the number of contacts ]
[that I've been able to build, internally and externally, has really surprised me.]
[I have this conversation with my friends quite often.]
[I feel like I have probably the best job out of all of them.]
[I get a lot of opportunity here to network, to get out and meet with the end user, the customer.]
[I deal technically as well as commercially.]
