Information technology (IT) is critical to the future of GE. With nearly 10,000 IT professionals in roughly 50 countries, GE IT represents a major area of focus and investment across the company and is essential to maintaining our leadership, competitiveness and success. GE’s Information Technology Leadership Program is a key entry point for IT professionals at GE and designed to attract high-potential candidates looking to further develop their technical ability and business acumen. Our Information Technology Leadership Program professionals gain hands-on experience in system implementation, technical design and architecture, and operational excellence as they transition from academia to the working world. Program members get access to rotations in a variety of disciplines, aligned to the GE IT global imperatives of Security & Compliance, Process Excellence, Simplification, Collaboration and People. And as part of GE, they are supported by the scale and resources of one of the world’s greatest companies.
Program
• Full-time, two-year program consisting of multiple rotational assignments
• 12 weeks of technical, project management and leadership training over the two years (including java programming, DBA, business intelligence, IT audit/controllership, project finances and presentation skills)
• Global exposure, including two month-long “bootcamp” training conferences at locations overseas
• Job assignments and training aligned with GE’s strategic business initiatives
• ITLP associates are hired into the GE Capital business based in Melbourne with the knowledge that the program is globally driven
Possible rotation areas may include:
• Architecture
• Infrastructure and Networks
• Information Security
• Project Management
• Application Development
Program members gain a breadth and depth of know-how in a variety of cutting-edge technical disciplines and business functions. Upon completion, program members graduate to off-program jobs where they build domain expertise, lead technical projects, go deeper in a particular technology area and lead business process reengineering and implementation projects, while working closely with their global GE business colleagues.
What we are looking for:
• Completed a Bachelor or Masters degree with at least a credit average in one of the following fields:
- Business Information Systems/Computer Science
- Business/Commerce with a minor in Computer Science/IS
- Engineering/Science with a minor in Computer Science/IS
• Passion for IT and a desire to build a successful career in IT
• Ability to work from our Melbourne office
• Must hold the appropriate entitlements to work in Australia
