Citizenship in Australia
We continually look to invest in ways that make the most of our financial, technical and intellectual resources to benefit our investors, customers, employees and communities.
This commitment is expressed in a wide range of initiatives, from our relationships with customers and suppliers to our participation in public policy, and our investment in projects that will benefit our local community.
Our new $80 million workshop facility and training centre at Jandakot in West Australia will address one of Australia’s big challenges, our engineering skills shortage. It will service the booming oil and gas industry, and offer the full range of technical training needed to meet the demands of the resources sector in Australia. Working in partnership with the Australian Government, we are investing in the local skills needed to support growth.
We also support many local organisations whose goals align with our ecomagination and healthymagination initiatives. Examples include the McGrath Foundation and Lupus Association for medical research, and Engineers Australia and Robogals to promote engineering as a career path for both men and women.
Corporate Integrity
Every employee at GE is expected to behave and perform with integrity. Our policies and expectations are made clear through our statements and ombudsperson process.
A commitment to operational excellence is at the heart of everything we do, and our two major commercial initiatives, ecomagination and healthymagination, demonstrate our focus on tackling the world’s greatest challenges – sustainable energy, and transformational healthcare.
