Dr. Thu Vu, a computer scientist with GE-Harris Railway Electronics, demonstrates the joint venture's new Railway Control and Management System^TM to marketing manager Ellen Klee. The new system can coordinate the movement of all trains and work crews across an entire railroad network, permitting railroads to optimize traffic on existing lines and avoid expensive investments in new rail infrastructure. In addition, it will improve the flow of freight trains, thereby allowing railroads to achieve on-time arrivals more consistently.
