Section 20.3 of GE's Integrity Guide, The Spirit and Letter, says that "EHS excellence is a responsibility of management and employees in all functions." It makes me feel confident in the organization to know that my responsibilities are shared by everyone at GE. It makes me give my best as a professional and as a person – my passion, my energy, my responsibility, my edge. It also gives me the humility to recognize that I need the team to do great things at GE.

 We have a regiment of EHS leaders, the best in their specialty, who are willing to listen, to help, sharing with me the tools that they have, supporting me in hard times or applauding me for an achievement.

The Transportation Systems team here in Mexico has accomplished remarkable things – achieving a zero accident rate at one plant; and gaining the Mexican government's STAR safety certification for a plant just one year after it was built. For this, we have been honored by Mexican President Vincente Fox.

The most valuable and important part of my position is making sure that every day the workers are protected and can go back safely to their families at the end of the day.
