Algeria is home to Africa’s largest seawater desalination project, Hamma. This is a GE ecomagination project which will supply 25 percent of Algiers’ population with desperately needed drinking water. GE is present in Algeria through its Energy, Oil & Gas and Healthcare businesses too.

GE 3rd Quarter 2008 Earnings

GE announced third quarter 2008 earnings from continuing operations of $4.5 billion, or $.45 per share, down 12% and 10%, respectively, from third quarter 2007, driven primarily by a decrease in financial services earnings.
