James S. Tisch

Mr. Tisch received a degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania. Since 1998, he has been the president and chief executive officer of Loews Corporation, one of the largest diversified corporations in the United States with subsidiaries involved in commercial property-casualty insurance, offshore drilling, interstate natural gas transmission, natural gas exploration and production, and luxury lodging. He also serves as a director of Loews, and Loews’s subsidiary CNA Financial. In addition, he is chairman of Loews’s subsidiary Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. Mr. Tisch serves as chairman of nonprofit WNET, parent of WNET Channel 13 and WLIW Channel 21. He also sits on the boards of the New York Public Library, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and the Partnership for New York City, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Tisch also was formerly a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
