Jim is a Managing Director of Business Development. He is based in Menlo Park, CA, and joined the team in 2017.
Jim supports the Business Creation, Investing, and Licensing teams with business development and transaction execution. His primary focus is on strategy development and execution of GE Ventures’ newest companies, carve-out entities, and incubated start-ups. He oversees the execution of strategic partnerships, collaborations, and transactions, including financing, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
Prior to joining GE, Jim served as Senior Vice President at The Gores Group, a private equity fund with investments in high technology and industrial companies. He was also Senior Vice President and General Counsel the Pabst Brewing Company, where he led the transformation and ultimate sale of the company.
Before his time with Pabst, Jim was Partner, Chair of the Capital Markets Group for Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP and an Associate at Sullivan and Cromwell LLP. He advised and structured venture capital transactions and public and private financings both within and outside of the United States
He received his JD from New York Law School and his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University.
Jim loves music. In his free time, he can often be found in record stores, searching and adding to his extensive CD and LP collection. He also enjoys attending concerts given by independent and alternative music artists.
